Hi, I’m Sophie, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! I specialize in creating custom pet portrait paintings, capturing the unique personality and spirit of your furry friends.

My journey into the world of pet portraits started during an unexpected time – the COVID-19 lockdown. I had returned home to isolate with my parents, a situation that was a mix of relaxation, banana bread baking, Zoom quizzes, and Netflix binges. But even with the comfort of family, there were moments of boredom that led me to rediscover my love for painting.

It was during this time that a close friend asked me to paint a portrait of their puppy Labrador (see picture below). I was a bit nervous at first – after all, I had never painted a pet portrait before – but when the finished piece turned out well, pet portraits became a new mini little venture for me. I shared it on Instagram, and before I knew it, more people reached out wanting their pets character captured in a painting.

Art has always been a part of my life. From GCSEs to A-levels, I've always been drawn to painting and creative expression. Even as I pursued my degree and later became a geography teacher at a secondary school in London, I kept that passion for art alive, creating on the side.

Now, I’m excited to continue growing my pet portrait business and bring your pets to life through art. While I’ve mostly painted dogs, I’ve also had the pleasure of capturing the personalities of cats, horses, bunnies, and even a hamster! My work has reached across the UK and Ireland, as well as to Australia and the USA.
